Cordarrelle Patterson and Hunter Renfrow to headline the 2021 fantasy football wire team – the athletic

When we talk about the Thread Team of Any 2021 Waiver, we’re basically admitting all of our failures in preparing for the project. These guys should have been drafted in August, but most leagues left them available.

Then again, if they had been drafted, they would not have been available on waivers, so they would not have been part of our 2021 all waivers thread team!

It is indeed the paradox!

Does the NBA’s Sixth Man of the Year winner want to start every game instead of leaving the bench? Of course he does! But then he would just be the fifth-best starter, without a cool golden man super-sixth trophy sitting on his coat! (I have no idea what the price looks like, but it is what I imagine.)

So just enjoy these waiver thread wonders while you can because most of them won’t see the waiver thread again for a while.

Fantasy Football 2021’s Son of All Waivers squad

I decided the best way to do this was basically to look at the endpoints at each position through week 14 and judged them against the final ADP Consensus on FantasyPros. I’m not counting the players who were drafted, then cut, then picked up after flourishing, only because they were initially to the detriment of whoever drafted them.

Quarterback: Kirk Cousins, MIN (ADP: QB18, final QB ranking: 6)

An afterthought on draft day, Cousins had one of his best fantasy seasons ever.
