The 2022 SGI Canada Best of the West Curling Tournament begins today and runs through Sunday at the Nutana Curling Club in Saskatoon. Eight women’s teams and eight men’s teams are participating, two from each western Canadian province. The teams are all under 30 years old. Gender champs are divided into groups of four teams each for round robin play, followed by the top two from each group qualifying for the direct playoffs. Each champion receives 10 thousand dollars. The Saskatchewan teams are led by Kourtney Fesser of Saskatoon and Lorraine Schneider of Regina on the women’s side while on the men’s side, the Saskatchewan teams are both from Saskatoon, led by Brady Scharback and Rylan Kleiter. Today’s draws take place at 8.30am, 12.30pm, 4.30pm and 8.30pm with the opening ceremonies at 7.30pm
