The Western Hockey League playoffs kicked off Thursday as Lethbridge travels to Edmonton. The other seven opening-round series begin Friday, including the Saskatoon Blades against the Moose Jaw Warriors in an Eastern Conference best-of-seven quarterfinal. Game 2 is Saturday in Moose Jaw with Games 3 and 4 at the SaskTel Center on Tuesday, April 26and and Wednesday April 27and. All game times are at 7 p.m. and all games are broadcast on CJWW, beginning with the pre-game show at 6:30 p.m. The Blades finished the regular season with 38 wins, 26 losses, 4 losses in overtime for 80 points…good for 5th in the Eastern Conference. The Warriors finished with 37 wins, 24 losses, 7 overtime losses for 81 points… good for 4and place to the east.
Also beginning Friday, the Prince Albert Raiders will face Winnipeg ICE in an Eastern Conference quarter-final playoff series. The first two games of the series will be played Friday and Saturday in Winnipeg with games 3 and 4 at the Art Hauser Center on Tuesday, April 26and and Wednesday April 27and. The Raiders’ home games start at 7 p.m. PA finished the regular season with 28 wins, 35 losses, 5 overtime losses for 61 points…good for 8th place in the Eastern Conference.
